One thing that amazes me these days is how my love for beans just sky rocketed in no time. I can vividly remember how my mum used to preach sermons on how beans would help us grow tall in those days. Touching the ceiling fan was always our target, so we had to eat for the height and nothing more. I never knew it would still become my best friend. I still don’t understand why my siblings run whenever I decide to release a sweet smelling gas into the air. Perhaps, they don’t know the value.
As usual, I had just consumed two plates of beans in anticipation of one of my favorite programs on Discovery Family. NEPA was doing well, until they decided to give me a shocker and their real nature came in. In a twinkle of an eye, the power supply was gone. I almost cried. That was how they shattered everything sha.
While I was still hoping power would be restored, different thoughts started coming in. What if the scientists that worked on electricity decided to give up after numerous failures? What would have happened? Apart from the illumination, sensation and colour light gives humans, what would have been the fate of thousands of inventions we have today? Perhaps, noone would have thought of developing a radio, television, refrigerator and the likes. Just as the birth of Jesus brought about a significant change in the world, the ideas birthed by some people gave room for the relevance of other innovations.
In the words of Dale Carnegie,
“Most things in the world have been accomplished by people who have kept on trying when there seems to be no hope at all”Dale Carnegie
Just imagine what the world would have been like without electricity. Unimaginable right? Therefore, in every sector of life, failure is meant to make success stories beautiful and colourful. They are organic buildups and pathways to the success everyone wants to achieve. A popular saying goes thus,
“A man who has never failed has never tried something new”
Even in the business world, most of the world’s successful businessmen took great risks at some points and even failed; but the distinguishing factor between they and their counterparts is how they interpreted their failures. Let me leave with these words from Robert .F. Kennedy
“Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly”Robert F. Kennedy
